Brian DeMint
www.eyeworksphotography.com

With an education in fine arts and currently working as a supervisor at a power plant, Brian DeMint has found a way to follow his dreams and create astounding works of art, with the simple tools of light and the artist brush of photoshop. Brian taught at our May Family Circle so we know that you will be was amazed at what you will learn that will apply to your senior photography. Brian's image of a mermaid also won the spa 2010 Event catalog cover contest that was judged in a popular vote by spa members.

Brian will be teaching with Rod Evans on a variety of ways to light.

Brian DeMint of Eyeworks Photography is a fashion and fine art photographer based in Joplin, Missouri. Formally trained as a figurative oil painter, Brian made the switch to photography in 2004 and is self educated in both photography and digital manipulation. By combining the classic elements of design with the digital technologies of today, he creates visually striking imagery with emphasis on expressive and emotional color.

Brian draws inspiration from a wide range of sources including the color bending techniques of the “Fauve” painters, the hyper-saturated fashion photography of Miles Aldridge and the solemn and lonely cinema of Ingmar Bergman. Photography is his medium of choice because of its flexibility and unlimited parameters when combined with digital manipulation. Brian's wife, Dena adds an artful and skilled hand to the work as his primary makeup artist/hair stylist and he credits the plethora of models he has worked with for extending the artistic nature of his shoots with their creative posing and willingness to experiment with some unconventional techniques.

Brian’s images have been internationally published and credits include Italian “A” fashion magazine, Supermodels Unlimited, Cut & Dry magazine among many other publications, musical artist CD covers and commercial fashion imaging for boutiques, jewelery designers, salons and makeup artists, as well as, art galleries. However, the main emphasis of his work is simply the creation of unique imaging for his own artistic outlet.

Future goals include working with emerging creative fashion designers, finding new and unique methods for shooting photography, adding mixed media and photomontage to create more abstract and emotional work.
